4th - 12th Grades finished their first full week of Summer Program! After 4 days of Career Exploration they jump right into Experiencing the senses of taste. Wednesday Students explored spicy with Tajin, Tabasco and ways to subdue the heat with milk, bread, and lime juice. They learned that capsaicin creates dopamine the feel good chemical. They then prepared Spicy Stir-Fry Ramen and experienced some burn.

Today they took off into Sour/Bitter and experienced balsamic vinegar, lemons, and citric acid powder. They then created lemonade using lemons and then citric acid to test the difference. Students learned about how this taste releases a different chemical and causes us to salivate to dilute the acids. Students then prepared fresh Tahini and baked/air fried califlower bites to dip in it!
