What a Historic Season for Elk Valley Girls’ Wrestling! We can’t even begin to express how grateful we are for all the support during our first-ever season of girls’ wrestling! It was a wild ride, full of hard work, determination, and unforgettable moments—and we capped it off by sending TWO incredible athletes to the State Championships! Huge congratulations to Kaylea Hilyard for securing a bout win and finishing in the Top 12 in her weight class! And big applause to Nezaria Luce for battling her way to the Top 16 in the state of Kansas! None of this would have been possible without Mr. Sam Wyrick, who poured his time, energy, and expertise into coaching these girls to such a high level. We can never thank him enough for his dedication! A massive shoutout to the Elk Valley administration and School Board of Education for always going above and beyond to ensure our students and athletes have every opportunity to excel—both academically and competitively. Elk Valley Schools - 2 Hour Delay Due to dangerously low temperatures, Elk Valley Schools will be on a 2-hour delay for Friday, February 21st. School will start at 10:00 AM. Breakfast WILL be served from 9:30 to 10:00 AM. If you choose not to send your student due to weather conditions, they will be excused. 🚨 School Closure Announcement 🚨 Due to the forecasted heavy snow and dangerously cold temperatures, Elk Valley Schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 18, and Wednesday, February 19. This decision aligns with other area districts and prioritizes the safety of our students and staff.

Love is in the Air… and in the Lab! ❤️⚗️ Middle schoolers in Mrs. Roach’s science class celebrated Valentine’s Day with a little magic—science magic! Students became potion masters as they explored chemistry through a love potion experiment. Using dry ice, they observed sublimation in different household liquids and reviewed chemical and physical changes as the bubbling mist brought their potions to life. Science has never been so enchanting!

📣 Elk Valley High School Girls Wrestling Heads to Regionals! 🏆🤼‍♀️ Tomorrow, February 14th, our Lady Lions hit the mat at Regionals, ready to battle for a spot at State! 💪🔥 ✨ Senior Kaylea Hilyard enters the tournament seeded 8th and is fighting to break into the top 4 to secure her ticket to State! ✨ Freshmen Nezaria Luce & Kabella Hilyard are also stepping onto the big stage, competing in the first round of this double-elimination tournament. Second-round matches continue on Saturday, February 15th.
